P\u00e5 Institut for Geovidenskab og Naturforvaltning (IGN) ved K\u00f8benhavns Universitet, er der for nordmannsgran udviklet en metode til vegetativ formering, som kaldes kunstig kimdannelse (Fig. 1). Ved denne metode foreg\u00e5r alle de tidligste stadier af kimdannelsen under kontrollerede forhold i en petrisk\u00e5l p\u00e5 laboratoriet. Det er det ideelle fors\u00f8gsmateriale til unders\u00f8gelse af epigenese hos planter.
\nEn indsigt i den molekyl\u00e6re baggrund for denne mekanisme vil v\u00e6re vigtig for en forst\u00e5else af tr\u00e6ers muligheder for tilpasning til klima\u00e6ndringer. Det ans\u00f8gte projekt kan ogs\u00e5 f\u00e5 meget stor praktisk og \u00f8konomisk betydning for danske juletr\u00e6sproducenter, hvis det viser sig, at epigenetisk kontrol kan styre dyrkningsm\u00e6ssigt vigtige faktorer som udspringstidspunkt i nordmannsgran.<\/p>\n
